Between the 13th and 17th of october, Santa Maria Health School (SMHS) commemorated the Erasmus Days: an initiative promoted annually at the European level, aimed at celebrating and showcasing the impact of the Erasmus+ program, with activities designed to engage, inspire, and inform the academic community (www.erasmusdays.eu/).

This year, the participation of SMHS took on special significance! Students, faculty, and staff showed growing enthusiasm for the opportunities that internationalization can bring to their academic and professional journeys.

Throughout the week, informative sessions on mobility were held, reaching 190 students from the 1st to the 3rdyear of all three undergraduate degrees. All of these students are now eligible to apply for Erasmus+ in the upcoming academic year!

To encourage the involvement of everyone and foster a dynamic and engaging environment, a giveaway of official merchandise was also launched, with 179 student and 15 staff member participants. Aside from being a lively initiative, it helped spark self-reflection and discussion about the possibilities of studying, training, or teaching abroad through the Erasmus+ program.

One of the most visible highlights of the week was the creation of an interactive mural, featuring a map displaying the 10 countries with which SMHS currently has mobility agreements. The mural also included photos and testimonials from students, faculty, and staff who participated in the program over the past year, as well as images of incoming students and international visitors who have been welcomed by our School.

These real-life testimonials helped voice the experience of Erasmus+, showing how it can shape personal and academic journeysbroaden horizons, and strengthen key skills. Step by step, the Erasmus+ program is becoming an increasingly present and accessible reality at our School, and our students are ready to explore it!
