PRESENTATION

The current health needs of women/couples/family determines that nurses must master specific knowledge in the field of sexual, maternal, obstetric and gynecological health, which allows them to establish an effective interpersonal relationship in enhancing health and promoting transitions healthy throughout the life cycle.

With a view to continuous improvement, and professional motivation for the development of advanced knowledge and skills to provide quality care, the Postgraduate course in Maternal Health and Obstetric Nursing aims to:

-Develop advanced skills for providing care as an initial stage of specialization in Maternal Health and Obstetric Nursing.

-Develop advanced knowledge and skills in the areas of: women’s health within the family and community; family planning and during the preconception period; during the pre- and post-natal period; during the climacteric period.

-Develop advanced knowledge and skills to care for women experiencing gynecological health/disease processes.

Interested parties will be able to complete the curricular units independently, as free courses with a certificate for each module or in their entirety, with end-of-course work, to obtain the postgraduate certificate.

TARGET STUDENTS

Licensed in nursing or legal equivalent.
