From 19 to 23 October 2026, Santa Maria Health School – Escola Superior de Saúde de Santa Maria (SMHS – ESSSM) welcomed Helena Řezníčková and Eva Pažourková, lecturers from the Secondary Medical School and Higher Vocational Medical School Brno, Czech Republic, as part of an Erasmus+ Staff Training Mobility.
During their stay, the lecturers had the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences of the Czech education system with the team from D3I – Department of Innovation, Research and Internationalisation and Professor Sofia Saraiva, Coordinator of the Higher Professional Technical Courses (CTeSP). This exchange provided an opportunity to explore different educational contexts and share good practices. In turn, the visitors learned more about the CTeSP programmes offered at SMHS – ESSSM, including their structure and teaching methodologies.
The mobility programme also included participation in two classes: Technical English, taught by Professor Rúben Dias, and Body Structures and Functions, taught by Professor Anabela André. These experiences allowed the visitors to engage directly with the school’s teaching and learning environment, explore different pedagogical approaches and exchange experiences with members of the academic community.
During their visit, Helena and Eva also had the opportunity to explore the Simulation Centre and the Adapted Apartment, discovering the facilities and resources that support students’ practical training, particularly in the healthcare field.
This mobility represented a valuable opportunity for knowledge sharing and the exchange of experiences and good practices, contributing to stronger international cooperation between the two institutions and promoting the internationalisation of education and training.
