From May 12 to 17, 2025, Santa Maria Health School simultaneously hosted two Erasmus+ mobilities in the areas of Nursing and Physiotherapy.

Professor María López Vallecillo, from the University of Valladolid (Spain), carried out a staff training mobility (STT) in Nursing. During her visit, she explored the school’s facilities, with particular emphasis on the Simulation Laboratory, and visited Santa Maria Hospital. She also met with Nursing faculty members, observed student assessment activities, and promoted the exchange of experiences on pedagogical practices in nursing education. Additionally, she met with the Research, Projects and Internationalisation Department to gain deeper insight into the school’s research activity, international projects, and internationalisation strategy.

At the same time, the school welcomed Professor Fuat Gökdemir, from Bezmialem Vakif University (Turkey), for a teaching mobility (STA) in Physiotherapy. He took part in several academic sessions, including a lecture in the Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy in Neuro-Musculoskeletal Conditions and a presentation to final-year undergraduate students entitled “Objective assessment of the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and the potential use of artificial intelligence.” The mobility programme also included meetings with the course coordination team and networking opportunities with faculty members.

This multidisciplinary hosting of international mobilities stands as a good practice and reinforces Santa Maria Health School’s role as an active partner in European academic cooperation networks.
