Between February and June 2025, Santa Maria Health School welcomed Rita Gonzaléz, a Nursing student from Universidad de Vigo, Spain, through the Erasmus+ programme, under the Student Mobility for Traineeship (SMT) scheme.
During this period, she completed her internship in the medical-surgical department at Hospital de Santa Maria, closely following the nursing teams and engaging in multiple practical activities. This experience enabled her to consolidate technical and scientific knowledge, understand the specificities of nursing practice in Portugal, and develop personal, academic, and intercultural skills essential for her professional training.
By hosting this international student, Santa Maria Health School reaffirms its commitment to internationalization and to providing high-quality training experiences, offering nursing students from other internacional institutions the opportunity to enrich their academic journey in a real and diverse environment.
