On January 29 and 30, 2025, Santa Maria Health School (ESSSM) carried out its first implementation activity for the ClinicalModelling project, providing 2nd-year Nursing degree students with an innovative learning experience in Basic Life Support (BLS).
The activity involved 80 students, who participated in five structured lessons designed to develop and consolidate essential BLS skills.
On the first day, students engaged with lessons 1 and 2, focusing on theoretical foundations. On the second day, they were divided into two groups and took part in hands-on activities in lessons 3, 4, and 5, applying their knowledge through innovative methodologies:
- Group A: Performed the BLS procedure in three stages:
- First attempt using smart glasses;
- Observation of their performance through video self-modeling;
- Repetition of the procedure without the glasses, applying the acquired knowledge.
- Group B: Performed BLS in two stages:
- Initial procedure with direct instructor feedback;
- Second attempt considering the given feedback independently.
This activity marked a significant milestone in the ClinicalModelling project, demonstrating the positive impact of technology on nursing education.
