International and national students and teachers, during the week of December 5-9, attended the international and multidisciplinary course in the area of Positive and Healthy Aging. This course was developed in a collaboration between the Santa Maria School of Health and FranU – Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University, a university also belonging to the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady congregation and located in Baton Rouge, Lousiana – USA.
During this week the participants had the opportunity to learn more about the ESSSM, the Hospital of Santa Maria and the Portuguese educational methods. They also had the opportunity to visit the “Santuário de Fátima”, the cities of Porto and Aveiro. This week ended with a ceremony to hand out the course certificates and a visit to the Port Wine Cellars.
It was certainly an enriching week for everyone. In this sense, we would like to thank in advance the participation of FranU, our students from the Nursing and Physiotherapy degrees who enrolled, the Reformers Project and our teachers and departments involved.
We look forward to a future visit.
