The Nurse Specialist in Maternal and Obstetric Health Nursing assumes autonomous interventions in their professional practice in all low risk situations, understood as those in which physiological processes and normal life processes are involved in the woman’s reproductive cycle and autonomous and interdependent interventions in all medium and high risk situations, understood as those in which pathological processes and dysfunctional life processes are involved in the woman’s reproductive cycle. The vision of the Specialist Nurse in Maternal Health and Obstetric Nursing is to deserve clients’ preference and be recognized as a reference professional for the improvement of gynaecological, sexual and reproductive health status, and for offering specialized care according to the responses to transitions related to life and health / disease processes, different areas of its intervention area.

COURSE DURATION

With a duration of 4 semesters. Context of clinical practice for the development of clinical teaching in the areas of Family Planning and Preconception, Climacteric Surveillance and Gynaecological Health, Prenatal Surveillance, Surveillance of Labor, Delivery and Immediate Postpartum Work, and the Puerperium Surveillance.
