Santa Maria Health School has been looking for new markets to prepare for the future, which will be a shortage of Portuguese students.

The market for higher education in the English language is broad and Portuguese institutions can compete, with an advantage, as they can charge lower fees and accommodation and food costs are also more affordable than in countries that have traditionally explored these markets.

A school the size of Santa Maria Health School cannot, alone, cover the costs of publicity and recruitment campaigns, which is why it led to the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Portuguese company Harmonia Laboriosa, based in Porto, specialized in these activities.

As a result of this partnership, this year the Master’s in Physiotherapy in Neuro-Muscle-Skeletal Conditions will open in a bilingual edition, with 6 Portuguese and 14 international students.

It will be the beginning of a strategic internationalization project offering training in English.
