This moment marks a significant step in our collective commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for individuals of all ages within our academic community.
The Age-Friendly University Global Network brings together higher education institutions committed to promoting positive and healthy aging, enabling the lives of older members of the global community to be improved through innovative educational programs, research agendas, curriculum development, online education, health and wellness activities, arts and culture programs, and civic engagement opportunities.
This Network presupposes 10 fundamental principles (Age-Friendly University Principles — Age-Friendly University Global Network (afugn.org) to build a global community where individuals of all ages feel valued, respected and empowered.
This initiative already includes more than 100 Universities and Institutions from around the world.
Santa Maria Health School is the only University in the health sector in Portugal with this distinction.
